Easy path for everyone!
The tour begins in the shade, but without a view; in the valley, the Haunold (2966 m) and its satellites first come into view, and only later the mighty massif of the Dreischusterspitze (3145 m), from which mighty streams of debris descend to the valley floor. The Dreischusterhütte, nicely situated on the edge of the Innerfeld, is then both hiking destination and starting point for larger undertakings: to the Hochebenkofel (see Tour 23) or to the great Drei-Zinnen-Blick at the Schwabenalpenkopf (see Tour 24). The "Schuster", after all the highest peak in the Sesto Dolomites, is rarely climbed - such long, arduous tours, garnished with plenty of scree and only halfway rewarding climbing towards the end, have long since gone out of fashion. From the hotel in Moos, hike to Sesto (1316 m), across the valley stream and along its left bank downstream to the bridge in the industrial area on the edge of the settlement. Here take the forest track in the Schmiedenwald uphill to the large hairpin bend above the mouth of the Innerfeldtal valley. Now straight ahead (sign) and first flat, then slightly downhill to the Ixenbach and the lower car park (1334 m) in the valley. Away from the asphalt band, moderately steep into the valley, past the upper car park (1490 m) and with increasingly clear views to the Dreischusterhütte (1626 m). Descent on the ascent path.
Birkenschartl
The Birkenschartl (2540 m) provides a scenically very interesting transition from the Innerfeld to the Höhlenstein valley, from the Dreischusterhütte to the Toblacher See lake just under 6 hours, marked. It is also worthwhile to climb from the flat ground of Innerfeld at least to Kohlalpl (about 1 hour): great views of the rugged western flank of the Dreischusterspitze (3145 m).
